Make Your Own Workshop: Year of the Rat
Join us as we hold a special one-day workshop as we teach you the basic steps behind the ancient tradition of Kimekomi Japanese dolls by making your very own rat in time for next year’s Year of the Rat.

Nisei Week: Make Your Own Workshop
Come join us during the 79th Annual Nisei Week Festival at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center on the 5th Floor to try and make your very own by using the Kimekomi Japanese doll technique. Select a vegetable and learn the basic steps behind this ancient art form. Please allow around 1-2 hours to complete the vegetable of your choice. Please note that the fabric will be different than in the picture.
Saturday: 10 AM-4:00 PM. (Last call is 3 PM)
Sunday: 10 AM-2:00 (Last call is 1 PM)
Material fee: $12 per vegetable
